As you might expect, the Huawei P40 is every inch the flagship smartphone: slick, powerful and with an advanced camera set-up, this first in a trio of premium handsets might well be this year’s most impressive phone, so far.

Downside is, while the device does operate with Google’s Android 10, you won’t be able to get any Google services, including no access to Google maps or the Google Play store.

However, to offset this, the Chinese tech giant offers TomTom in place of Google maps, and even includes its own version of the Google Play Store called Huawei Home Services.

Right now, though, the apps available on Huawei Home Services are limited. So consider this before you buy.

Let’s take a closer look at everything it has to offer…

Huawei P40 design and screen

In terms of the overall design, we think this might be Huawei’s best looking smartphone to date.

Indeed, with curved glass edges and very thin bezels, the phone itself looks gorgeous. We’re big fans of the matte-finish, too. And its large, 6.1-inch OLED screen is perfect for watching movies and TV shows on the go.

Huawei P40 battery

A smartphone that houses this many features needs a big battery. And the P40 doesn’t disappoint.

Impressively, the 3,8000mAh battery should last a full day, and withstand even the most power-draining  activities.

Huawei P40 camera specifications

Although not as impressive as the P40 Pro, this standard P40 phone's camera setup stil packs a punch. It consists of a 50MP Ultra Vision camera, a 16MP Ultra-Wide Angle camera and 8MP telephoto camera. Meanwhile, a 32-megapixel feature-packed selfie camera sits at the front.

Other notable features include 3x optical zoom, advanced AI technology that lets you take the perfect pictures, plus stunning, 4K quality video-recording.

Top Huawei P40 deals by network

Although the Huawei P40 isn’t the most expensive flagship smartphone around, it's still expensive compared to phone#s that are already a few years old.

To that end, it helps to shop around for a network and contract that’ll get you the most for your money.

So, to help you make an informed decision before you buy, here’s a snap shot of each network that sells the Huawei P40, and what they have to offer:

Huawei P40 deals on iD Mobile

Indeed, centered on flexibility and value for money, deals also come with data rollover and bill capping. So you can manage exactly how much you pay at the end of each month.

All Huawei P40 deals with iD Mobile come with a 24-month contract.

Huawei P40 deals on EE

EE, known for its highly rated coverage and speeds, has a heck of a lot to offer.

For example, EE’s Huawei P40 plans boast swappable benefits like the option to add the BT Sport app or Roam Further pass, each month.

Lastly, all Huawei P40 contracts feature inclusive roaming in the EU, plus a six-month subscription to Apple Music, too.

Huawei P40 deals on Vodafone

Can I get an Huawei P40 with bad credit?

Although the Huawei P40 costs less in comparison to recent flagships, it’s still a lot to fork out in one go. To that end, it’s unlikely you’ll get a deal with a bad credit rating.

To that end, you’d be better off saving up so you can buy the phone outright. Alternatively, you could get a cheaper model. This way, you’d be more likely to get an offer.
