iPhone 15 Plus Availability
The iPhone 15 Plus went on sale on 22nd September 2023.
It comes in the same capacities and colours (pink, yellow, green, blue and black) as the standard iPhone 15, but costs more because of the bigger screen.
At launch, prices were:
- 128GB: £899
- 256GB: £999
- 512GB: £1,199
iPhone 15 Plus Design
The iPhone 15 Plus looks just like the iPhone 15, but bigger. It has a 6.7-inch screen, to the iPhone 15’s 6.1-inch display – that makes it the same size as the iPhone 14 Plus. The edges are now contoured, which should make it easier to grip, though most people will put it in a case.
The colour options differ from the iPhone 14 Plus, and the colours are infused through the back glass, which has a textured, matte finish.
iPhone 15 Plus Camera specifications
This is one of the biggest upgrades over the iPhone 14 Plus. The iPhone 15 Plus’ main camera now has a 48-megapixel sensor, whereas the 14 Plus’ only had 12 megapixels. This should result in much more detailed photos.
You get more zoom options, too. That’s thanks to a new telephoto option – you can now zoom in to either 0.5x, 1x or 2x (though it doesn’t have the separate Telephoto lens of the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which can zoom in to 5x). And the camera software has been improved – now you can turn shots into portrait photos later, instead of having to manually shoot in portrait mode. Which will make it much quicker to take portrait photos.
Is iPhone 15 Plus worth buying now?
The iPhone 15 Plus has plenty to offer, especially if you take a lot of photos with your smartphone. But it does share a lot of the same features as older phones, like the iPhone 14 Plus.
The 14 Plus has just dropped in price too, making it more tempting than ever. It really comes down to whether you need the new features of the iPhone 15 Plus – if you can live without them, you could save a pretty penny.
