The tall glass of water of Samsung’s 2023 cohort of smartphones has a display that clocks in at 6.6 inches – and it’s available on some cracking deals. Compare above to see what you can get from the networks we work with, or read on to find out more about the Samsung Galaxy S23+.

Samsung Galaxy S23+ deals

At nearly 16cm tall, the S23+ is the big boy of Samsung’s 2023 flagship phones.

It was unveiled on 1 February 2023, alongside the standard-sized Samsung Galaxy S23, and the extra-powerful Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.

All three are available to buy outright to pair with a SIM-only deal, or you can compare mobile contracts.

Samsung Galaxy S23+ at a glance

  • Dimensions: 158 x 76 x 8mm
  • 6.6-inch AMOLED display, with 1,080 x 2,340 pixel resolution and 120Hz refresh rate
  • 50MP main, 12MP ultra wide, 10MP telephoto, and 12MP selfie cameras
  • Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 For Galaxy chipset
  • 8GB RAM
  • 256GB or 512GB storage
  • 4,700mAh battery
  • Available in black, cream, lavender, and green
  • Other variants: Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Ultra

Availability and price

The Samsung Galaxy S23+ was available to pre-order from 2nd February 2023, with a full release date of 17th February 2023.

At launch, the 256GB model costs £1,049 SIM-free, while the 512GB model costs £1,149.

Of course, both versions can be bought on contract from mobile networks to help spread out that cost.

Design

The Samsung Galaxy S23+ is a large phone, as the name suggests, standing at 158mm tall.

It’s almost identical to the previous Galaxy S22+ in terms of design. You’ll find a glossy, premium-feeling glass body, made with recycled glass this time – and it’s Gorilla Glass Victus 2, so it’s ultra strong too.

The back is nice and clean-looking, with three round camera lenses in the top corner. Meanwhile, the display takes up the whole front of the phone, with next to no bezel.

That display is a hefty 6.6 inches – perfect for watching video, playing games, and reading documents in a way that’s easy on the eyes. It’s a dynamic AMOLED with a 1080 x 2340 pixel resolution, and has an adaptive refresh rate up to 120Hz.

That means it can respond and adapt to the light in the room and the activity you’re doing, and switch between a high refresh rate (for smooth movement when you’re watching videos, playing games, or just scrolling) or a low one (to save power when it’s showing something more static).

As for colours, you can get the S23+ in black, cream, lavender, or green.

Camera

Samsung’s flagships never compromise on the camera, and the Galaxy S23+ is no exception.

On the back you’ll see three lenses: a 50MP main lens, 12MP ultra wide, and 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. That’s a similar setup to last year’s S22+, but this time it comes loaded with some subtle improvements and some cool photography tech under the hood.

New enhanced AI helps make your photos pop in low light – and you’ll find similar smarts on the 12MP selfie camera too, thanks in part to dual pixel technology that focuses fast and accurately.

You’ll also be able to capture photos in Expert RAW mode, to get stunning high-res shots and a high level of control over your photography.

Plus, Samsung’s photo remastering and editing tools are a breeze to use on the Galaxy 23+’s nice big screen.

Specs

The S23+ runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 For Galaxy processor – a slightly modified version of the manufacturer’s chipset optimised just for Samsung Galaxy phones. It means apps are zippier than ever, and it can handle even the most data-crunching tasks with ease. That’s helped along by 8GB of RAM.

Internal storage is either 256GB or 512GB – plenty enough for most of us. But you may need to take advantage of cloud storage if you have lots of high res pics, videos, and chunky apps, as there’s no SD card slot to expand it.

The battery, meanwhile, is a big 4,700mAh affair, which should be quite enough to see you through the day. Fast 45W charging is supported, as is wireless charging.

Can I get the Samsung Galaxy S23+ with no upfront cost?

Yes, you can. To see deals on the Galaxy S23+ with no upfront cost, adjust the filter above to zero – or to the lowest amount you’d be willing to pay on a contract today.

Is the Samsung Galaxy S23+ worth buying in 2024?

The S23+ arrived in early 2023 as a major flagship phone, with high enough specs to make it future-proof for many years to come. It’s a solid handset that can withstand a lot, and Samsung tends to continue supporting its flagships’ software for up to five years.

What’s the difference between the Samsung Galaxy S23+ and S22+?

The Samsung Galaxy S23+ is really just an iterative upgrade to the previous year’s S22+. It’s about the same size, with a very similar design, only featuring slightly stronger Gorilla Glass.

It of course has an upgraded processor, making everything run more smoothly, and has more internal storage – up to 256GB.

The battery is just a bit bigger, and it charges more quickly.

And finally, the cameras have a few subtle upgrades, mostly to the software.

What’s the cheapest way to get a Samsung Galaxy S23+?

The cheapest way to get any phone is usually to buy a handset outright and take out a SIM-only deal to use with it.

Of course, that may be more easily said than done for a top-end flagship like the Samsung Galaxy S23+. For contracts that help make it nice and affordable, check out the table above. Adjust the filters to just show the deals that have everything you need, and sort by cost to see the cheapest deals float to the top.

Can I get the Samsung Galaxy S23+ with poor credit?

It might be a bit of a challenge. Networks are often reluctant to offer contracts on high-end phones if you have a bad credit history. Your best bet is to buy the handset outright and grab a SIM-only deal.

Some networks are more lenient than others, of course. You may have the best luck applying for a lower-cost contract from a smaller network, especially if it’s on a short-term basis.Visit our page on bad credit phones for more tips on what you can do.
