iPhone 15 Design
The iPhone 15 has new contoured edges which should make the phone feel nicer in the hand. Apart from that, it looks much the same – its screen is the same size as the iPhone 14 (6.1 inches), and again it lacks the always-on feature and ProMotion (i.e. higher refresh rate which means much less blur) that you find in the iPhone Pro models.
It does come in new colours, though. Your options are: pink, yellow, green, blue and black. Apple has infused the colours through the back glass, which has a textured, matte finish.
iPhone 15 Camera specifications
The camera has had quite an upgrade. The main shooter now has a 48MP sensor, compared to the iPhone 14’s 12MP one. That should make for more detailed snaps.
It also has a new 2x telephoto option which gives you more zoom capabilities – you can now zoom in to either 0.5x, 1x or 2x.
You don't need to switch to portrait mode beforehand anymore, either. Instead, you just focus, and the phone will draw in depth information so you can easily turn the snap into a portrait later in the Photos app. Which should save some time getting your camera ready, and could mean you don’t miss out on that crucial shot.
Is the iPhone 15 worth buying now?
The iPhone 15 looks like another success story for Apple. It has better cameras, more functionality and some cool new features. But you might be better served by an older, cheaper iPhone.
The iPhone 14, for example, offers many of the same features for much less money. You could even pick up one of the older Pro models (like the iPhone 14 Pro Max or iPhone 13 Pro) for a more affordable price than at launch.
If you can do without the latest bells and whistles, you could save a fortune.
Can I get the iPhone 15 with no upfront cost?
You can, as some networks do indeed offer the iPhone 15 with nothing to pay upfront. Be aware, though, that these usually come with a higher monthly cost. To see your options, head to our page on no upfront cost phones.
