Google Pixel 8 Pro Design
The Google Pixel 8 Pro has a 6.7-inch screen with a resolution of 1344 x 2992 pixels. That’s the same size as the Pixel 7 Pro’s screen, but with a higher resolution.
It’s also brighter (going up to 2,400 nits, compared to 1,500 nits on the Pixel 7 Pro), making it easier to see in bright sun, and can reduce its refresh rate all the way down to 1Hz (which the Pixel 7 Pro couldn’t). This is useful for saving battery life during activities with little or no movement on screen like reading emails, as the screen will work less hard with no drop in quality.
Google Pixel 8 Pro Camera specifications
The Pixel 8 Pro features three rear cameras and a front-facing selfie taker. On the back are a 50MP main camera, a vastly improved 48MP ultra-wide and a 48MP telephoto lens – that should mean plenty of versatility, whether you’re taking photos of wide landscapes or zooming in close from far away.
With 5x optical zoom and Super Res Zoom up to 30x, the Google Pixel 8 Pro – even if it’s yet to reach the dizzying heights of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra’s zoom.
Is Google Pixel 8 Pro worth buying now?
The Pixel 8 Pro isn’t a huge step up on the Pixel 7 Pro, but it does have more advanced camera editing software and a unique thermometer for taking the temperature while cooking. It’s more expensive than the Pixel 7 Pro, but cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and the same price as the iPhone 15 Pro. That’s some stiff competition.
Apple and Samsung’s flagship phones are a bit more powerful than Google Pixels. Android fans might want to wait until early next year when the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra will launch.
