Yes, you can. In fact, most recyclers will accept phones that are broken or damaged. Just select ‘Broken’ when you go to compare prices for your device and be as honest as you can about its condition to get the most accurate quotes.
What counts as broken? Well, that could be anything like cracked screens, scratches and chips, broken buttons, faulty operating systems and software issues, or dead pixels on the display. Each recycling company will have its own conditions on what counts as broken and what they’ll accept, so be sure to check.
However, recyclers are unlikely to accept water-damaged phones, or devices that are severely damaged (if it’s completely snapped in two, for example).
