OnePlus has decided to release only one handset for 2023: the OnePlus 11. So, this flagship incorporates plenty of Pro-level features, making it a great Android alternative to the likes of Samsung and Google.
Availability and price
The OnePlus 11 launched in China before anywhere else, going on sale on 9th January 2023.
It was released around a month later in all other countries, going on sale on 16th February.
In the UK, launch prices were £729 for the 8GB RAM/128GB variant, and £799 for the 16GB RAM/259GB version.
Design
The OnePlus 11 keeps most of the same design features as last year’s OnePlus 10 Pro, such as the glossy glass back, metal wraparound frame and hole-punch selfie camera.
The main difference that sets the OnePlus 11 apart from previous iterations is the rear camera module. Purported to have been inspired by black holes, the OnePlus 11 now sports a new stainless steel circular camera unit on the back of the phone.
It comes in two colours: Black and Dark Green.
Display
The OnePlus 11 has a 6.7-inch 2K AMOLED display, with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1,440 x 3,216 pixel resolution. It’s a curved screen – whether that’s a pro or con depends on your preferences, but it certainly looks beautifully sleek as a result.
It’s a pretty sizeable phone, with its screen measuring around the same as the iPhone 14 Max and Google Pixel 7. That’s plenty of screen real estate, making it an enjoyable device for watching videos, scrolling through websites and mobile gaming.
It also features OnePlus’ popular alert slider.
Camera
The OnePlus 11 sees the return of the Hasselblad branding, as featured in the OnePlus 10 Pro.
The triple camera system comprises a 50MP f/1.8 main lens, 48MP f/2.2 ultra-wide lens and 32MP f/2.0 telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom. Using these three lenses, you’ll be able to capture shots with vibrant colours, excellent dynamic range, and an impressive level of detail.
The collaboration with the iconic camera company means you can play around with Hasselblad-exclusive filters and aspect ratios.
Specs
Specs-wise, the OnePlus 11 is the company’s most powerful phone so far. It’s powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, and it’ll run on Android 13 with OnePlus’ own ColorOS 13.0 interface on top. The powerful new processor puts it on a par with the Samsung Galaxy S23.
One feature that OnePlus has always excelled at is its fast charging capabilities. The OnePlus 11 will continue this reputation, supporting up to 100W wired charging. With its 5,000mAh dual-cell battery, that’s a full charge in 25 minutes – seriously fast. On the flip side, though, it still doesn’t support wireless charging.
In terms of longevity, the OnePlus 11 is set to receive four years of Android updates and five years of security patches.
Can I get the OnePlus 11 with no upfront cost?
It depends on the network, but it’s common for contracts to come with an upfront cost of £50-£200 for the handset – particularly if the phone is a recent, high-end release.
That said, some networks might offer the OnePlus 11 with no upfront cost – use our comparison table to check.
Is the OnePlus 11 worth buying in 2025?
At the time of writing, it’s OnePlus’s latest and greatest phone. It has the specs and features of a Pro-model phone, and it’s up there with some of the top handsets from more well-known brands. All this makes the OnePlus 11 a great choice, particularly if you’re looking for something a little different.
It’s worth mentioning that the OnePlus 11 comes with an 100W charger and charging cable in the box. Given that the likes of Apple and Samsung no longer supply a charging brick with their phones, this is definitely a huge plus point – and it lets you take advantage of the OnePlus 11’s lightning-fast charging speeds.
What’s the difference between OnePlus 11 and OnePlus 10 Pro?
There are a few differences between the OnePlus 11 and its predecessor, namely:
- New chip – the OnePlus 11 features the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor
- Smoother, more power-efficient display – the OnePlus 11 features an LTPO 3 display, compared to the OnePlus 10 Pro’s LTPO 2 screen. This should mean a higher refresh rate without draining the battery
- New design – while most of the design has stayed the same, the new circular rear camera design is certainly striking
- Faster charging – the OnePlus 11 supports 100W charging speed, up from the 10 Pro’s (still very fast) 80W charging
What’s the cheapest way to get a OnePlus 11?
There are two ways to get a new phone: either paying full price to buy it outright, or spreading out the cost with a phone contract.
While it’s a lot of money to pay upfront, the cheapest way to get the OnePlus 11 is to buy it outright. It works out cheaper in the long run, and you can get an affordable SIM-only deal to go with it.
Nevertheless, you may find a mobile phone contract to be more suitable. While it’ll cost more overall, it’ll let you spread out the cost over the course of a phone contract – which can be a lot more manageable.
At CompareMyMobile.com, you can compare monthly costs, as well as the overall cost of the contract.
Can I get the OnePlus 11 with poor credit?
Most networks will run a credit check by you before letting you sign up to a phone contract. So, if you have poor credit, it might be difficult to get approved for a OnePlus 11 contract.
You’d have better luck getting a mid-range phone or an older flagship, and trying to improve your credit score in the meantime. Visit our page on bad credit phones for more tips on what you can do.
