Design
Though it may be Google’s first venture into foldables, the Pixel Fold sports a refined design that makes optimal use of the folding functionality.
For starters, the folded version of the phone is more pleasant than other foldables from the get-go. With an outer display measuring 5.8 inches diagonally, its wider form factor makes it eminently easy to use one-handed.
When unfolded, it reveals the expansive 7.6-inch screen. It acts like a portable tablet on the go, and you’ll be able to read books, watch videos and scroll through social media feeds with maximum viewing pleasure. Not to mention, Google has incorporated a nifty multi-tasking mode, which allows you to use multiple apps side-by-side.
Camera specifications
The Pixel Fold delivers excellent photos across the board, as we’ve come to expect with the Google Pixel line. Using clever computational photography wizardry, it captures high-quality shots with realistic detail, colours and saturation.
Hardware-wise, the rear camera set-up consists of a 48MP main sensor, a 10.8MP ultrawide, and a 10.8MP telephoto with 5x optical zoom. On the outer screen there’s a 9.5MP front camera, as well as an 8MP lens on the inside of the phone when unfolded.
Using its foldable form factor, you can prop up the phone for hands-free selfies and video calls.
Can I get the Google Pixel Fold with no upfront cost?
As it’s a pricey, high-end phone, the Google Pixel Fold typically comes with a considerable upfront fee. Currently, you can expect to pay an upfront cost of £199 upwards.
