Apple’s newest flagship smartphone, the iPhone 12 Pro, is available to pre-order now But how is it different from last year's iPhone 11 Pro?

Design
Like the standard iPhone 12, Pro boasts a 6.1-inch display along with super-tough Ceramic Shield protection that Apple says is the toughest glass on any smartphone. Difference is, The 12 Pro sports a Super Retina XDR display that’s slightly better than the standard version.
This time around, the phone also comes in four different colours, too - Silver, Graphite, Gold and Pacific Blue - all of which compliment the textured glass matte back and smooth, stainless steel design.
Camera

The iPhone 12 Pro features a 12-megapixel camera system that consists of Ultra Wide, Wide and Telephoto lenses. Impressively, the rear camera also lets in 27 per cent more light, which will mean sharper pictures, and professional style shots.
Elsewhere, and for the first time on a smartphone, the iPhone 12 Pro also records in Dolby HDR video recording up to 60fps, whereas the standard iPhone can only do 30fps.
Other standout features include 10x digital zoom, improved Night Mode, Portrait Mode with advanced bokeh and depth control, plus Portrait Lighting with six effects.
Battery and processor
One of the stand-out features of the iPhone 12 Pro is it's newest processor, the A14 Bionic. It's the most powerful chipset to feature in an iPhone to date, facilitating a significant boost in efficiency and power.
In terms of battery life, the 12 Pro’s 2775mAh battery boasts 17 hours worth of video playback, up to 11 hours of streamed vide playback and 65 hours of audio playback to boot.
It can also charge up to 50% charge in around 30 minutes11 with 20W adapter or higher (sold separately).
5G
We can report that the iPhone 12 Pro does indeed come with 5G support, just like the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max.
Release date
The iPhone 12 Pro will be available to pre-order from October 16, and will be on general release on October 23.
