When Sony released the Xperia Z3 Compact in 2014, it brought out a smartphone that had a smaller size but no compromises. With a 720p display measuring 4.6 inches - about half an inch smaller than the full-sized Xperia Z3 - it was easy to hold and use, but still had powerful specs for its time.

Like the Z3 proper, the Z3 Compact was a toughie: it came with a shatterproof screen, and was totally dust- and water-resistant. Plus it looked rather pretty, with a shiny body in either black, white, minty green, or blood orange, along with just-about-visible stereo speakers at the top and bottom of the screen. Inside, things were just as good, thanks to quad-core processors and a 20.7MP Sony camera lens.

Today, however, you might find your Xperia Z3 Compact rather dated - it’s a few years old now, after all, and only has 16GB of internal storage. It could be time to update to a phone with more modern specs, not to mention a bigger battery.
