Samsung have sold over 10 million of these bad boys since the release a couple of months ago – and it’s not hard to see why. We are already seeing some enter the phone recycling market though. This is currently the iPhone’s biggest competitor. Unlike the iPhone, the S4 still has a plastic finish – but many reviews point out its diamond pattern underneath the white casing. But despite the plastic look, the S4 still looks very sleek due to its large screen, thin width and light weight of 130g – it’s not larger than its predecessor despite the extra perks.

The device has a super AMOLED touchscreen 5-inch display with HD resolution – the first of its kind - which sits just 2.5mm away from the edge of the smartphone. Hopefully this won’t make for too many smashed screens. Despite the smaller space around the screen the home button is still there which leaves an easy to navigate handset and the large screen provides great a great video and internet browsing experience.
The front-facing camera sits with 2-megapixels, while the rear brings them into the competitive market with 13-megapixels. Other features with the camera include digital images stabilisation, face and smile detection, panorama and voice activation – for the keen smartphone photographers out there.
Android 4.2.2 runs on the S4 so you can expect the latest software from the device and battery life has been widely praised – with some users claiming it lasted two days. Some seem to have problems with that as well as the storage – but Samsung claim to be working on ways to sort the storage out.
This is the phone to have at the moment.
