Review by Denis

The recycler changed the price and downgraded the phone by 100 pound. I found it hard to get hold of the company. I sent various e mails no response. I eventually got in touch to be informed to pay a certain sum of money to have my own mobile returned to me because I rejected there offer. This has to be made clear that it is there responsibility to return the goods to the customer not the owners responsibility. They need to improve there customer service and update there website.

Had to chase payment constantly and was told different stories and after a lot of lies the money was paid into my bank by cash as opposed to BACS. Difficult to get through by telephone and would never use this company again

Firstly when they received my phone they said it was a 16Gb model instead of a 64Gb model and reduced the purchase price. As soon as I proved to them it was a 64Gb model they recanted. I tried to call them on the number provided and got a message saying that there was no one there to answer and I could not leave a message. There was an undue delay in payment also. The overall impression I get from this Company is that they don't want to be bothered communicating with customers in other words this is a Company that does not value its Customers

I only wish i had read all the other reviews, This is a misleading company who's only goal is to get your device and offer you a really poor price, £190 i was quoted, the device was immaculate and never used, then sent me a revised quote for £95, i complained and was told £120 max, i told them to return it to me, Worst company every to deal with too, took a full week after they received it to assess it and never available by phone,

The worst company I have ever dealt with. They are liars! They offered me £18 less for my Samsung S6 as they said there was a dent in it. There was NO dent when I carefully parcelled it up and sent it to them. It was in pristeen condition as always had screen protector on and case. They never answer the phone or emails. These lot are not to be trusted, steer clear of them, take a lower offer from a reputable company!

Was offered £60 originally and this was changed to £6 as they said there was 'an image burned onto the screen which showed up against white paper' I refused the offer and the phone was returned to me. Subsequent examination by a mobile phone expert could find no trace of any image. I have since sold it elsewhere for a good price.

Told me phone was badly scuffed and took 30 pounds off the offer price. The phone was immaculate when sent and had always been in a case from the day I got it. Kept making excuses as to why they couldnt pay me when I rang them to see why no money had been credited to my bank. Wont deal with again and would advise anyone to think twice before they do.

Store Overview

Fonehub Review

FoneHub claim to be an environmentally and socially responsible phone recycling company, providing a great solution to those who want to sell their phone.

Sounds good doesn't it? But there is nothing on their website which actually says how they go about this procedure or what they do to the mobile phones. If they do have the eco-friendly ethos as their main priority then they would probably go about it the usual way - recycling old mobile phone parts for new handsets and reusing the gadgets to send them to poorer nations around the world is the more common way in this industry.

Apart from their claims to be good at the environmental factor, their unique price quoting is one of very few around. First you have to choose your unwanted phone from the makes and model list, all sounds familiar so far? Once you have confirmed your phone, you will be taken to a page where you are asked numerous questions about your phone. The first question is the condition of your handset and whatever you choose; the price shown will go up or down. Even a brand new phone wonâ??t match up to the price of a used phone you can get elsewhere at another mobile recycling company. The second question asks whether your phone is unlocked or not. If so, the price will remain at its highest potential but if your unwanted handset is locked then you will face a further deduction, depending on what network the phone is registered in.

However, no matter what option you choose the price is poor, as FoneHub offer one of the lowest valuations in the industry.

Customers can send the device directly to FoneHub's address, which is registered as a freepost address. So, it's free to send items to and the service covers you up to £39 worth of goods, so if the phone is lost or stolen on route then they will pay the price up to that amount. This is highly recommended if your phone is worth the value of £39 but if your estimate for your unwanted phone far exceeds then we suggest you go through a secure, tracked postage system.

When it comes to payment, the company can only offer you one choice. They will send out a cheque 48 hours after the confirmation of the phone has been sent via email. Apart from bank transfer, this is a common payment option amongst recycling companies.

A good service but pricing and only one payment option lets it down.

Key Points:

Environment factor: Prides itself on its contribution to helping the environment.
Pricing: Average complicated pricing lets the brand down and turns away many customers. Not accurate to list on our website due to different payment questions.
Payment options: FoneHub only offer one payment option which is cheque.
